Description
This Yarn Art is a one-of-a-kind art created by the indigenous Huichol people of Nayarit, Mexico. It is known as Nierikas and is made with colored yarns applied using a natural adhesive mixture of beeswax and resin over a wooden board. It represents the visions of the Huichol shamans during the ritual ceremonies.
There is an extensive description on the back written by the Huichol artist.
The description: “This represents the meaning of the eclipse when the two Gods, sacred moon and sun of our earth communicate with each other. The moon brings the rain, and the sun gives the light.”
