Description
This Yarn Art is a one-of-a-kind art created by the indigenous Tepejuano people of Nayarit, Mexico. It is made with colored yarns applied using a natural adhesive mixture of beeswax and resin over a wooden board representing the visions of the shamans during the ritual ceremonies.
There is an extensive description on the back written by the artist.
The description: “The hummingbird is the third envoy of the healer to the Rain God so that it rains well and the harvests are good. The tobacco is used by the shaman to heal patients.”
NOTE: Please keep in mind that this art was covered and taped with plastic for protection, so there are some sticky parts on the back.
