Description

This Yarn Art is a one-of-a-kind art created  by  the indigenous Huichol people of Nayarit, Mexico.  It is known as Nierikas and is made with colored yarns applied using a natural adhesive mixture of beeswax and resin over a wooden board.  It represents the visions of the Huichol shamans during the ritual ceremonies.

There is an extensive description on the back written  by  the Huichol artist.
The description: “There are offerings dedicated to the Deer such as muvieri, candles, and god’s eye.  Finally, they are taken to the sacred place.”
